The 2008 Awards finalists

The selection of three finalists for 14 categories in the 2008 Farmers Weekly Awards have been unveiled. The judges had the difficult task of teasing out just three farmer finalists, in each category, from an overwhelming number of high quality entries.

The 42 finalists will be visited by a judging panel which includes last year’s category winner, an independent judge and a Farmers Weekly member of staff as well as a representative from the Sponsors. The judges will be looking for evidence of innovation, success and vision in the core areas of their business and market, as well as their achievements in managing environmental and social challenges.

The names of the winners from each of the categories won’t be revealed until the Awards Night on Monday 27 October at the London Grosvenor House Hotel. The evening is dedicated to the best of British farming and will leave guests feeling proud to be British and even prouder to be a farmer. The evening kicks off with a champagne reception, followed by a 4 course meal with wine, top quality entertainers, an Awards ceremony hosted by a BBC presenter and dancing to the Dark Blues live band.
