2007 Local Food Farmer of the year
John Geldard at Low Foulshaw Farm near Kendal in Cumbria is the 2007 Farmers Weekly Local Food Farmer of the Year, sponsored by Farmshop.uk.com
Geldard impressed the judges with his clear vision and sound knowledge of market and consumer behaviour.
“He has a huge diverse range of markets which is enhanced by his awareness of the need to network within the farming industry and by the sound use of the internet as a sales tool,” Commented Charles Trotman from Country Land and Business Association and one of the judges.
Over 100 farmers have entered in this year’s Awards with more than 30 businesses in the line-up reflecting the very best that British producers can offer across 12 categories.
The Awards’ aim is to recognise innovation and achievement among individual farmers as well as celebrate excellence within the industry.
